Writing
I started writing while I was in the hospital for a disease of the brain, bi-polar schizoaffective disorder. With just notepads and
pens I wrote two novels: Juxta, Magi and The Vampire Menace. I wrote
RAECE:Genesis next. While I was motivated to write and get published it
seemed like I had no chance, and I had the bright idea of returning to
school to study English and Literature. Since I'm disabled I have time
for both school and writing. I learned a lot in my first year of school.
I am taking more classes this year and will likely step up to university next year.
Stories on the site:
THE WOODS is my first effort at writing a short story.
It's about a girl that goes camping and gets chased by wolves. I told my teacher
that I intended to make a novel out of it, and he just smiled and nodded.
I don't think he thought I could do it. But, I did it.
BANE WARRIOR is the second short story
I wrote for Ed Davis. It's about a magic slinging bounty hunter. Some people
love the story and ask where's the rest of it, while other people don't like it so much.
It's a bit of an acquired taste I guess.
I intend to make a novel out of this one too, but I don't know when.
THE VANGUARD is what I call "battle-lore".
It's about a young warrior who fights in a great battle. It's rather simple, but a fun read.
Originally it jumped between the here and now and flashback a whole bunch, and everybody in class
said it was too many flashbacks. This is the revised version without a ton of flashbacks.
BEETLES and BEETLES (revised) are my first attempts at horror.
I want to write horror in the worst way, to me it is the pinnacle of achievement in writing.
When I did the revision I literally started with a blank page and rewrote the entire story.
I may expand this into a short novel, or a series of short stories. I don't know. I think it's a good premise for a novel I'm just not sure if I can squeeze enough pages out of it.
Year Two Stories -- All three of these stories are attempts at surreal humor. They aren't serious, nobody dies, there is no magic, nothing supernatural happens.
